  • Experienced researchers: Doctorate completed within last 12 years + extensive publications
  • Research must address development-related issues for home region
  • Written invitation & mentoring agreement from a German host researcher
  • Not resided in Germany for more than 6 months in last 18 months
  • Language: English or German (German required in some humanities fields)

Postdoctoral Researchers

  • Stipend: โ‚ฌ2,670/month
  • Duration: 6โ€“24 months (can be split across 3 years)

Experienced Researchers

  • Stipend: โ‚ฌ3,200/month
  • Duration: 6โ€“18 months (up to three stays across 3 years)

Additional Benefits

  4. Host & referees submit their letters
  5. Wait for review outcome (4โ€“8 months)
