The SEAMEO‑Japan ESD Award recognizes Southeast Asian schools for innovative disaster risk reduction (DRR) education that incorporates local wisdom and fosters community resilience. Student-led initiatives highlighting sustainability and collaboration with local communities are central to this prestigious program.

✅ Eligibility Criteria

Open to public and private schools in SEAMEO member countries
One entry per school
Schools not shortlisted or winners from 2020–2024 are eligible
Entries must integrate local wisdom with disaster risk reduction (DRR)

🎁 Award Details

1st Prize: US $1,000 + sponsored school visit to Japan
2nd Prize: US $600
3rd Prize: US $400
Special Award: US $1,000 (for small schools <250 students)
All winners receive plaques; shortlisted schools get certificates.

📝 How to Apply

Submit the entry form via the Google Form.
Include a document (max 5 pages) in PDF/DOCX format (≤10 MB) and a 3-minute video (YouTube link).
Documentation should cover objectives, strategies, learning methods, community engagement, monitoring, future plans, and links with other SDGs.
Ensure all materials adhere to SEAMEO’s submission guidelines.
