π About the Fellowship
Hosted by the UKRI Centre for Doctoral Training in Designing Responsible NLP at the University of Edinburgh, this 2β3-month programme invites researchers from racially and ethnically diverse communities to explore the intersection of AI/NLP and digital heritage. Fellows will engage with ethical frameworks, archival bias, and interdisciplinary dialogue to influence the future of responsible technology.
β Who Can Apply?
- Researchers/professionals from the Global Majority (e.g., Black, Asian, Indigenous, Latinx, racialised backgrounds)
- Within 8 years post-PhD or 6 years of first academic job
- Background in digital humanities, archives, museums, or NLP/AI
- Applicants worldwide β Malaysians are eligible
π Funding & Benefits
- Stipend: Β£2,500/month for 2β3 months
- Travel Grant: Β£1,000
- Visa fees fully covered (including dependents)
- Opportunity to deliver a public lecture & masterclass
- Engagement with Edinburgh Futures Institute research community
- Publication/blog support during or after residency
