The IDFA Bertha Fund IBF Classic Production and Post production grant supports filmmakers in realising their documentary project. The maximum contribution per project is €25,000 and the grant can be used for production and post production costs, from filming and editing to preparing the film for cinema, television, or other screens. Entries must be completed and submitted on the deadline day by 23:59 in the applicant’s time zone. If selected, the contribution must be spent in a country on the IBF Classic Country List, and the grant may only be used for expenses incurred after the final selection date, which is approximately three months after the application deadline.
Eligibility
Projects must be eligible under IBF Classic general requirements. All directors attached to the project should have the nationality of a country on the IBF Classic Country List and should live and work in a listed country. Applications for this category must be entered by the director or producer. If a project is selected, the contribution must be spent in a country on the IBF Classic Country List. Documentary series, films that are part of a study curriculum, and immersive or interactive media projects are not eligible. Projects from Bahrain, Hong Kong, Russia, Saudi Arabia, and United Arab Emirates are only considered when they address political or human rights related topics within the country itself.
