The Matsumae International Foundation (MIF) Research Fellowship aims to foster global scientific collaboration by hosting exceptional early-career scholars in Japan. Fellows will advance cutting-edge research while experiencing the cultural and academic excellence of Japan.
✅ Eligibility Criteria
- Open to non-Japanese nationals, including Malaysians.
- Must hold a PhD at the time of application.
- Age limit: ≤45 years (born in or after 1980).
- Must secure a signed invitation from a Japanese host institution.
- Applicants should not have had long-term stays in Japan (short visits are acceptable).
- Current employment in the home country and intent to return after fellowship are required.
