🌏 About the Residency
The Reflekt Residency 2025 is a Goethe-Institut Southeast Asia initiative that offers a platform for artists, thinkers, researchers, and cultural professionals to engage in cross-disciplinary exchanges, deepen their practice, and reflect critically within the broader artistic landscape. Hosted by SAVVY Contemporary in Berlin, it supports collaborative artistic projects and community engagement.
✅ Eligibility Criteria
- Artists, thinkers, researchers, and cultural professionals based in Indonesia, Malaysia, the Philippines, or Timor-Leste.
- Minimum 10 years of professional experience in the arts sector or a relevant degree/master’s degree.
- Experience with international exhibitions, productions, commissions, festivals, residencies, or research.
- Fluency in English.
- Not currently enrolled in any academic program.
- Significant experience in art ecosystems and practical knowledge in project management, education, community organizing, hospitality, communications, or public engagement.
🎁 Residency Benefits
- Round-trip economy-class airfare to Germany and visa/travel expenses for visa appointment.
- Travel insurance and accommodation in a shared flat with a work studio.
- Lump-sum fee and daily costs totaling €3,000 for the entire residency.
- Production/research subsidy of €600.
- Mentorship and regular meetings with SAVVY Contemporary members.
- Access to SAVVY Contemporary's archives and current programs.
- Support for presentations, workshops, performances, listening sessions, community dinners, or other initiatives.
