Organized by UCLG-ASPAC, the International Essay Competition 2025 invites youth and journalists to share their insights on building sustainable, self-sufficient cities and regions. With a focus on innovation, inclusivity, and resilience, this competition is a platform to influence global urban narratives.

Themes (Choose 1 of 5):
- Job Creation – Sustainable employment in cities
- Youth Leadership – Youth shaping urban futures
- Energy Self-sufficiency
- Urban Inclusivity – Family- and user-friendly cities
- Urban Growth – Managing equitable expansion
Eligibility:
- Youth Category: Ages 15–25
- Journalists Category: Professional, accredited journalists (no age limit)
- Participants from all nationalities, including Malaysia, are welcome

📝 Submission Guidelines
- Essays must be in **English**, no longer than **1,000 words**.
- Submit in Microsoft Word or PDF format via the official entry form.
- Essays must be original, unpublished, and steer clear of sensitive political issues.
- Journalists must include an accredited press card.
